Sudan 365: Calling for Peace throughout Sudan (Rally)
On January 9th the world will join together in a drumbeat for peace in Sudan.

This day will serve as a launching point for a yearlong effort to raise awareness about preventing the catastrophe of a return to widespread violence in Sudan.

New York City Coalition to Save Darfur will in New York, will join these global events through a short program at Washington Square Park. This event will feature powerful drumming from Gary Fritz, and words from leaders in the movement for peace in Sudan by Osman Hummaida, Former Director of Sudanese Organized against Torture and an Amnesty International Prisoner of Conscience who was imprisoned in Sudan in 1990 and in 2008 and Bushara Dosa, President of the Darfur People's Association of New York.


Please bring a drum or other percussion instrument if you would like to join in the drumming.

Events will also happen in Mali, Togo, Benin, Sierra Leone, Senegal, Kenya, London, Edinburgh, Italy, Norway, San Francisco, New Zealand, Cairo and other places to be confirmed.
