Sudan 365: Drumming for Peace (Rally/Protest)
On January 9th the world will join together in a drumbeat for peace in Sudan.
This day will serve as a launching point for a yearlong effort to raise awareness about preventing the catastrophe of a return to widespread violence in Sudan.
Washington, DC will join these global events through a short program at New York Presbyterian Church. This event will feature powerful drumming, footage of celebrity drummers from 15 countries joining the beat, and words from Sudanese survivors and leaders in the movement for peace in Sudan.
After the short program we will march to Lafayette Park.
Please bring a drum or other percussion instrument if you would like to join in the drumming, and a sign if you would like to join the march.
Events will also happen in Mali, Togo, Benin, Sierra Leone, Senegal, Kenya, London, Edinburgh, Italy, Norway, San Francisco, New Zealand, Cairo and other places to be confirmed.
