Des Moines Dream For Darfur Torch Relay (Olympic Dream for Darfur Event)
Olympic Dream for Darfur is organizing an Olympic Torch Relay from Darfur to Beijing and across the United States to galvanize public support around the world to exert pressure on China, and put an end to these unending violations against humanity.
The international Dream for Darfur campaign comes to Des Moines October 21st!
Please join us as Des Moines for Darfur partners with the Des Moines Marathon for the Olympic Torch Relay through the streets of Des Moines. A Dream for Darfur Speaker presentation and press conference will take place near the finish line of the marathon at the Kirkwood Hotel Lobby. This event is free and open to the public. We encourage all of you to come out to support the people of Darfur and this awareness raising international campaign.

9:00 a.m. 5k Dream for Darfur Walkers Start
10:30 a.m. Speaker Presentation and Press

12:00 p.m. Rally at the finish line with the
Dream for Darfur Torch Relay Team.
We have an extraordinary opportunity to reach out to the Chinese government, in its role as host of the 2008 Summer Olympics, to urge Beijing's leaders to use their considerable leverage with Sudan, and finally put a stop to the genocide in Darfur. Thanks so much, and we hope to see you there for this amazing event to continue to fight the injustice in Darfur!

There are numerous opportunities to participate in this exciting event as well. If you are interested in volunteering to walk in the Des Moines Marathon 5K or be apart of the Dream for Darfur water stand, or man the Dream for Darfur booth at the sports and fitness expo please contact Lyndsay at Lyndsaylyndsay@gmail.com (All volunteers will receive a Dream for Darfur T-shirt!!!)
