My Story: The African people of West Sudan (Darfur) are being exterminated by Sudanese government supported militia troops, who are Muslim, simply because of their faith and their ethnic differences. It is a true genocide. Every day, villages are burned, the men are killed, and women are raped and then killed. Babies are thrown onto the fires of the burning huts. The US government is aware of this, and Condoleeza Rice was recently there and spoke out for the killing to stop. But, our government depends on Sudan for intelligence regarding AL Qaeda, and therefore, won't push the Sudanese dictatorship to stop their "ethnic cleansing" of these poor people. As a Jew, I will never forget the Holocaust when our people were slaughtered simply for being Jews. My father's entire family was wiped out in the Nazi death camps. And the rest of the world just stood by and let this happen. I'll be damned if I'm gonna stand by and let another race of people go through the horrors of what we went through. So, I'm doing what I can for the Save Darfur Coalition. One of the things that I can try to do is to let my friends know of this genocide in Darfur, and pray that others take up the cause to STOP THE KILLING NOW. I'm not asking you to send them money or anything, unless you want to. I've set up a recurring monthly contribution that I can afford. All I'm asking you to do is to inform yourself of it, and maybe tell others you know, so they can become informed, and then tell still others.
