December's School of the Month
The School of the Month for December is Tappan Middle School of Ann Arbor, Michigan! The students in the Enough! Club at Tappan Middle are working on several different projects to help the people of Darfur. They have spread the word about Darfur by emailing friends and family members, and are working on a podcast with pictures that they hope to present in January. They are also getting elementary school classes involved in their activities.
The club members have designed a Pennies for Darfur campaign to raise funds in a way that helps people understand the magnitude of the crisis in Darfur. To signify that as many as 400,000 people have died, their goal is to collect 400,000 pennies ($4,000) for Dollars for Darfur.
In addition, classes have created an online project where people can learn about Darfur and a website that their group uses for updates and planning. Check out these sites to see what they'll be working on next!
