Exciting Announcement
Beginning the 2009-2010 school year, Dollars for Darfur will be part of STAND: A Student Anti-Genocide Coalition. STAND is the student-led division of our partner the Genocide Intervention Network, and their entire focus is empowering, supporting, and guiding student activists. With STAND's leadership and attention, I am confident that the program will be even greater than before.
A message from Layla Amjadi, STAND's Student Director:
Dear Student Darfur Activists,
As a group you are known as amazing organizers, skilled at bringing your communities together to fight for the people of Darfur. As individuals you have demonstrated your personal conviction for ending the genocide through your impressive fundraising and activism efforts. As students, we were the driving force behind breaking the silence on Darfur.
Every day, students like us raise their voices to educate their communities, raise money, and drive this movement forward. Together, we have made a difference, but there is more work to be done.
Visit our website to find out how you can connect with other STAND students, get involved in one of STAND's programs, and help lead the student movement to end genocide.
Looking forward to continuing the fighting with you,
Layla Amjadi
