Details and Data Sources

The information here is based on research from the Sudan Divestment Task Force.

A summary of the data is available here.

The Sudan Divestment Task Force has developed the targeted divestment strategy and has conducted extensive research on companies that are helping fund the genocide in Darfur. Please see the Task Force’s web site and the report above for more information about targeted divestment, PetroChina, CNPC, and other involved companies.

The investments of the target companies, as reported by the Sudan Divestment Task Force, are estimates based on:

  • data from Bloomberg on August 1, 2007
  • the latest available filings from Bloomberg data, with filing dates ranging from 3/2006 to 6/2007. Filing data was not available for a single date due to variations in filing procedures from fund to fund and country to country.
