I call on Franklin Templeton, JPMorgan Chase, Fidelity Investments, Capital Group (American Funds), Vanguard, and other firms to divest from companies that help fund genocide in Darfur.
Take Action on Divestment
1. Tell President Bush to immediately implement the Sudan Accountability and Divestment Act of 2007.
The Act bans federal contracts with companies that help fund genocide in Darfur and can add much-needed economic pressure on the Sudanese regime to end the violence in Darfur.The legislation is in place - we're waiting for the President to act. The April 29 deadline to implement the legislation has passed, but we have still not seen any movement from the White House.
2. Tell mutual fund companies to Divest for Darfur!
Franklin Templeton, JPMorgan Chase, Fidelity Investments, Capital Group (American Funds) and Vanguard are the five targeted firms with the largest holdings in PetroChina , a company that helps fund genocide in Darfur. Tell them that genocide is a bad investment!

3. Get involved in a State Divestment Campaign
The movement to get states to divest is at the heart of the divestment movement. Several states have already divested. We need your help to convince others to follow their lead.

The California legislature is considering a bill that would prohibit the state from entering into or renewing contracts with certain companies that help fund the genocide.
