Patricia Parker, chairman and founder of Kids for Kids – an international charity based in England that has been working to sustain the villages of Darfur for over 5 years now - will be in Oregon and California from May 29 - June 9.  Patricia speaks to groups of all sorts in the UK, from grade schools to the House of Lords; she is coming to the US to help spread awareness here.

Her charity, Kids for Kids, is virtually the only organization to have brought help to children still living in villages in Darfur during the last five years. Aid from the international community has been concentrated on the IDP (Internally Displaced People) camps, and yet there are over 3½ million people still clinging to their homes as the violence has continued.  Kids for Kids does not believe in charity, and nor do people want it. What they want to do is to be able to look after their own children, themselves – the same as any parents anywhere in the world.

To learn more about Patricia check out her Bio and recent press, including the London Times article about her 2005 kidnapping by SLA rebels at www.yhtak.com/kids

I am coordinating Patricia's "Kids for Kids US Tour."  If you are interested in meeting Patricia and having her speak to your group/school/club/giving circle/etc please let me know:  k4k@yhtak.com.  Of course, she does NOT charge a speaking fee.

Thank you,

Kathy
