I am asking for support for our event. MHONA International. Our event here in San Francisco, is home, very cradle of our Human Rights Doctrine. I am asking ALL lives who have come from any disability,or disabled by violence, wars, genocide,[loved ones killed by genocide] to come stand with us. The disabled community and those lives profoundly disabled are the last voices to be clearly heard...and or to be actualised in reality, brought into the fold of issues of most external communities. Our one day is also to remember the lives (all ages) who are unable to travel, much less leave their homes or beds. The most fragile connects of humanity.
From our own communities of persons with disabilities, we are offering this one day of remembrance. We include of course and focus this first event on the citizens and children of Darfur.
It is hard enough to fight daily to address our issues, but to be negated, left out,or for the public, to think our thoughts, our voices or our feelings have no validity is much to much to swallow. Please don't let our voices die, or our persons be-come irrelevant and or outdistanced because of lack of knowledge, etc.. Share our message where ever possible. Our success remains everyone's. No one knows when their lives will face any of these issues, but each and everyone of us, one day in time, will be disabled.
This is why MHONA's event is taking place. We ask all lives, youth to elderly, abled or disabled to make their way to San Francisco for this summer, September 2008. Send us e-mail that you will attend our human rights event, and call to defend and support Darfur, will donate and stand with us !
I sit on our cities San Francisco Mayor's Disability Council, have sat on our Mental Health Consumer Board 14 years; run free support groups for victims, survivors of violent trauma over 30 years, plus offer a support warm line from my home.. and will soon sit on a board for our elders health care for in home services..... all the while battling many more difficult disabilities, multiple sclerosis, chronic pain, etc. without meds, else I lose anything of my remainder of small kidney function. I am 65 years old, but my heart is not cold, and i care beyond words!
Perhaps our lives are limited by many of life's crushing blows, but it does not mean we should be left out. I ask you and countless lives, locally, globally to hear us, support us, carry our voices, our persons in unison with all who are against the savagery that is transpiring in Darfur.[and of course globally elsewhere] Save Darfur !
Spoke to the United Nations two weeks ago, and they very much liked our non-profit's idea and approach to this tragedy and catastrophic issue affecting Darfur. They approved, and encouraged MHONA to hold this first time event.
Am reaching out through the Internet to find peoples known, unknown to join with us for one day, one moment in time to help our voices join with millions of others, and to bring out voices from their homes to share their indignation via the Internet live at our event in/on September 13, 2008 here in San Francisco. We need peoples assist us with this part for our event! This is a person to person, citizen to citizen campaign, youth to youth, partnership. A fund-raising event to help the peoples of Darfur.
I am looking for speakers, to fill our forum, as well as individuals, communities locally, globally to share, stand, speak with us united against what is transpiring in Darfur.
Local and global press to convey our message and offer hope.
I welcome noted voices in entertainment, and music to help us raise funds help to cover our event, etc., and proceeds will go to the peoples of Darfur. Please, spread the word. Allow my phone and your connects to our event, be in freedom's name, surely ringing for the peoples and children of Darfur.
Please Help: MHONA International - a registered 501 3 c non-profit est. 1962 - P.O. Box 22162 - San Francisco- California -Tel. 415.665.1178. Checks Made out to: Save Darfur.
Thank you and we hope we will see you and countless supporters of others for Darfur at our event.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Tatiana A. Kostanian
