On Sunday, June 1st, Jewish World Watch will host a booth at the Israel Expo. Proceeds to benefit Bialik Rogosin campus in Israel. This school sponsors 42 recent Darfur Immigrant children. There are 720 children at this school. All are living at or below the poverty level.

On June 4th, Judy Bernstein from International Rescue Committee, and a recent immigrant from Darfur will be presenting a discussion on the current events happening in the region. This discussion will be hosted at a private home in Laguna Beach, California. Members from the Interfaith Counsel, area book clubs and members of Women of Vision will be in attendance.

On June 4th, the ABTL will be hosting an evening to benefit Darfur refugees and to spread awareness about the ongoing conflict in Darfur. This event will be held at the Westin Hotel in Costa Mesa.

Orange County for Darfur has begun their summer study group to educate activists. It is vital to understand the politics of Darfur as well as the frame work for activism. Orange County for Darfur continues it's visits to politicians.

Congratulations to Congregation Bnai Israel of Tustin. 175 people attended their Interfaith Seder which raised over 17 thousand dollars for Darfur! Proceeds were donated to International Medical Corps. Mobile Medical Unit. Members of the committee lead by Lydia Levin Kuperberg and Mindy Levin, came together from other area Temples to make this event happen.

Congratulations to UCI's Darfur Action Committee! Keep those "Rock for Darfur" concerts rolling!

Last August, Congregation Shir Ha-Ma a'lot 's Darfur Action Committee held an event at the Orange County Museum of Art that members of the community are still talking about. Together with Co-chair Kristen Perlmutter and Collette Kaplan raised 27 thousand dollars for International Medical Corp. Special guest speaker and African Affairs Expert John Prendergast shed insight on the topic of action and prevention.
This fall, the co-chairs hope to host another event. "This years speaker promises to be equally compelling and a fan favorite", reports Collette Kaplan, who sits on the Board of Trustees at SHM and is Chair of the Social Action Committee.
