(This is NOT just a group for Mothers, everyone is welcome!!) No parent should have to watch their children suffer. People need to unite to end suffering in Darfur. I can't even imagine trying to raise a child in the current conditions they are facing. I want to help and I am sure many more people do as well. Lets get all of our ideas together and do what we can.

Special heartfelt thank you and prayer for Eric Reeves

www.sudanreeves.org - please go check out this massive wealth of information !!
Professor Eric Reeves has devoted over nine years - fulltime, to research, writings, and strong activism on the atrocities in Darfur and South Sudan. This has literally become his life's passion.
He is currently battling leukemia, and has since 2003 - yet his international fight continues amidst his internal fight with this disease.
Please check out this wonderful man's work/articles - he is an acclaimed author and has testified many times before Congress on the genocide ongoing.
He has been so kind in responding to many emails and has given us a personal statement to be read at our rally (I will save it until then).
Please pray for his health and continued work for the people of Sudan.

I am back

Friends,

Sorry I have been out of touch for the past few weeks, we have had some deaths in our family. However, they both were expected and it got me to thinking about all the people in Darfur and how much death they have witnessed. They have seen many children and adults in their prime die, not people who have led full lives that have come to their natural end.

Please keep emailing me and let me know what you are doing to save our friends in Darfur, I will keep you informed as well.

The divine in me honors the divine in you,

Pompous Ceremony

I read recently several articles in the UN news about the current events involving Darfur. What I find appalling is the amount of time, effort, and resources being spent, and propagadistically used to pat the shoulders of the UN envoys and special teams.

Preparation

Hello everyone,

I am finding that the farther I have gone academically, the more restless I have become. Since completing my educational goals (for the moment atleast) I have jumped into action. I felt tired of crying alone in the night for people I didn't know, and was exhausted by the nightmeres. So, in order to ease my suffering, I finally realized I needed to act. I live in a very rural area, yet I believe an area with a slight indication of progressivism, yet it seems there has not been a platform for these individuals to become involved in things larger than themselves.

Awareness

Good Morning All,

Just a quick note to welcome new people and a reminder for the rest. If you are new to the group we welcome you and are very glad to have more people join us in our quest to end suffering in Darfur. Everyone is welcome to post on the blog and comment, it is actually encouraged. Ideas can be sparked and more action can be taken if we all collaborate.

Quick story... My husband and I were at a family friends home over the weekend and he had his Save Darfur shirt on and about 10 people asked him, "Who is Darfur?". These are all very educated people, a chiropractor, lawyer, teacher, business people. Needless to say we were both shocked but also happy to share information. Please take the time to let people you know about Darfur and how they can help.

Best Regards,
Shannon

It was great to see a response to my last post, I wasn't sure if anyone was reading them. Please everyone feel welcome to respond or start a new thread yourself. I am amazed at how many people don't have any clue as to what is going on in Darfur, I had someone say to me, "What is Darfur?" when I wore my save dafur shirt. I spoke to them a little bit and I could tell they were going to check it out, it was a great feeling. We can tell the world one by one if we have to! Shannon
