What can we do?

Drumbeat for Darfur, at the Unitarian Universalit Church on March 25 was a big success. We had a great turnout. Members of the congregation were joined by people from the community who had learned about the event from advertising on: WUWF radio, ABC Channel 3 and on savedarfur.org.
Over $400 was raised to send to the UUSC Drumbeat for Darfur campaign. We also had many new signatures on the petitions. I sold 4 tee-shirts and met about 5 people from the savedarfur.org Outreach Pensacola online community.
Tom Brown and Heidi Nagel gave a very interesting and informative lecture and our musical guests, the Lyndsey Battle Band, were well received. The drum circle, hosted by Mike Beck, gave people a chance to play some very nice drums and was a great ending to the event.
We had about ten names on various sign up sheets from people who want to help with the next events. Coming soon will be a booth at Earthday and the next Drumbeat for Darfur concert and picnic at Bayview Park, Sunday April 22. Thanks to Rev. Julie Kahn for all her hard work and for writing the lecture given by Tom and Heidi, and thanks to everyone who took the time to help or to attend.
